The Winter Park YMCA Treasure Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 with a BBQ lunch, provided by Four Rivers Smokehouse, for $6. All proceeds will go to the Edward C. Smith Scholarship Fund to provide assistance for those who normally cannot afford programs.

First Watch Restaurants is celebrating Father's Day on Sunday, June 21 at its 1221 S. Orlando Ave. location. Representative Bryan Nelson has announced that he will be hosting a community leadership forum about the "Orange Blossom Express Rail" Initiative at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 in the Apopka City Hall Chambers. The Orange Blossom Express Rail would run from downtown Orlando to Tavares and would provide a public transportation alternative to driving on U.S. Highway 441. The Morse Museum of American Art will provide free admission on July 4, continuing its annual public celebration of American art on Independence Day. The museum will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 4, in conjunction with Winter Park's "Olde Fashioned July 4th Celebration" in Central Park. The city celebration, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., includes live patriotic music, a hot dog eating contest, horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting and more.

The Bach Festival Society is pleased to announce that it has received a grant from the Community Foundation of Central Florida to fund publicity efforts and the purchase of new sheet music for the Young at Heart Chorale. The Young at Heart Chorale is a group of seniors who share a love of singing. The Chorale annually presents about a dozen free performances for a variety of community organizations and retirement centers, such as the Winter Park Towers and the V.A. Hospital. Winter Park-based insurance agency Cooper, Simms, Nelson & Mosley is partnering with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company to award a $6,259 grant to Winter Park Fire Rescue for a thermal imaging camera. Thermal imagers use updated technology to enable firefighters to "see" through smoke and darkness to quickly locate anyone trapped in a building during a fire. Grant funds will also be used to support the department's Community Smoke Detector Program, which places smoke detectors in homes of residents that don't have them.
Orlando – Orange County Property Appraiser, Bill Donegan is pleased to announce the development of an interactive map of foreclosed properties in Orange County. The map was released for public use on the Property Appraiser's Web site www.ocpafl.org on June 11. All properties displayed on this new interactive map have been identified by the Property Appraiser as having completed the foreclosure process with a Certificate of Title issued and recorded in the public records of Orange County.
